It is just a stones throw to the seafront and the cliff lift, or you can stroll through the ornamental Italian Gardens. Also within walking distance there are restaurants, pubs and shops. Parking permits provided so you can park outside. Scarborough train station is 5 minutes in a taxi (14 minute’s walk).

Get ready, Scarborough! One of the Yorkshire coast’s most dazzling annual events is back!
📅 Saturday 12th September 2026
📍 West Pier & South Bay Seafront, Scarborough
Hundreds of stunning Honda Gold Wing motorcycles, decked out in brilliant neon lights and ridden by fancy-dress heroes, will light up the seafront in a spectacular night-time parade.
What’s on: • 12pm–4pm – Daytime static display (come meet the riders, see the bikes up close, raffle & tombola) • 8pm–9pm – The famous Goldwing Light Parade along Foreshore Road & Marine Drive • 9.30pm – Fireworks over South Bay Beach 🎆

Scarborough Cricket Club, with the castle and headland providing a fairly ridiculous backdrop.

Scarborough Cricket Club was founded in 1849, with some of its early matches actually played up on Castle Hill. It moved to North Marine Road in 1863, and the ground has since become one of Yorkshire cricket's most distinctive outgrounds. At its post-war peak, crowds topped 20,000 - the record was 22,946 for Yorkshire against Derbyshire in 1947.

More than 160 years later, Yorkshire still play first-class cricket here and the Scarborough Festival remains part of the calendar. And from above you get the whole setting in one shot - cricket ground, tightly packed streets, North Bay and Scarborough Castle sitting on the headland beyond.
