We were out for a walk and no queue at the Magpie so popped in to try their £20 two course set menu for Whitby Restaurant week. We started with Crab Pate and mussels, and seafood risotto and duo of king prawns and haddock. All were superb. The Crab Pate and the Seafood Risotto were exceptional. This is great value and im sure lots of the other restaurants involved will be doing similar!

We are undergoing bits of renovation, decorating and reinvigorating at the moment. Sometimes this is just bits of touching up and repair, sometimes wholesale changes. We are about decorate bathrooms in the Runswick, Ruswarp and Lealholm, and i have put a new bed into the Grosmont room, And re painted the Bathroom in there. Let me know what you think of the bed? We also have some new shower caddies to go in that appeared on Dragons Den so if they ain’t no good you can all have a moan at Duncan Bannatyne.

Trenchers is always a family favourite of ours. The service and atmosphere is always great. The restaurant is beautiful, and the food is excellent. There loads of other fantastic ones too. Mr Chips, the Magpie, Angel and the royal fisheries to name but a few.
