Two years ago today we had our offer accepted!!

The Beach House was in a sorry state then… the roof needed repairing, wallpaper was hanging off, it was grotty!

But we believed we could turn it into a really lovely, cosy space.

I'm not sure what has happened but we seem to have gone a bit viral over the weekend! I was replying to enquiries and messages ALL yesterday.

So, hello to new followers on this page!! I'm Katie, and I really hope I get to welcome you to our little seaside sanctuary soon!

My husband and I bought The Beach House in 2024 after stumbling across it for sale and in pretty bad condition... wallpaper hanging off the walls, damp, roof in bad condition, nasty electric radiators...

We actually finalised the purchase on my 40th birthday and spent the weekend there making a list of the jobs we had to do! We knocked walls down, added a toilet, threw out all of the furniture that came with the sale, fenced in the front garden to make it safe for pooches, got a new roof, damp proofed the whole house and of course decorated everywhere.

Now it's a real cosy clifftop retreat, ideal for busy families, dog lovers, astronomy fans (certified dark skies over Cayton!), creatives like me (when I'm not buying random houses, I like to write), and special needs families like ours.

I really hope we get to welcome you here soon because the photos do not do this place justice!!

A few last-minute June and July dates have just opened up at The Beach House Yorkshire — four bedrooms, sea views from Scarborough to Filey, a garden made for G&Ts, and the Cleveland Way right outside the gate. The kettle’s on, the log burner’s ready (yes, even in summer — this is Yorkshire 😄), and your dogs are warmly welcomed.

Spontaneous? Indecisive? Just fancy waking up to the sound of the sea? This one’s for you.

Cayton Bay is one of the Yorkshire Coast’s best hidden gems. Great for surfing, dog walking and even dolphin spotting, it’s a proper sandy beach ideal for sandcastle making.

The Beach House Yorkshire sits on top of the cliffs, right next to the path down. We’re already booked for a lot of 2026, so if you’re ready for a stunning seaside break, don’t wait too long to book.
