We thought these were white bluebells tucked up at the top of the garden in amongst the honeysuckle but Google Lens and Sarah Ravens Wild Flowers book suggest this is Three-cornered Leek or Garlic (Allium triquetrum). A pretty flowering plant but we have no idea where it has come from or in such abundance.
I think the faeries have been busy 🧚🏻🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️

As you know we love our food, especially great food. And this is great food. In fact it’s more than great food. It is artistry on a plate. Visual, aromatic and tastebud tingling delicious. Looks too good to eat, but eat it we did. Sublime.

The four course lunch at Ninth Wave Restaurant was a tremendous treat with a whistle stop global tour of culinary flavours. If you’re ever stopping by in Fionnphort then a visit to Carla & John’s place up on the hill is a must-stop place for a lunch to remember.

I have included a description of each dish with the photos just to tempt you even more.

We are in full swing at ‘Fawlty Towers’ and for guests who have stayed before many will know that after 40+ years in the hospitality business John has some cracking stories to tell including his many Basil Fawlty moments. He does a fair impression of Basil too although I prefer his Manuel moments 😆

In his honour I have made some Basil infused olive oil with garlic and lemon using the home-grown freshly harvested basil from my Auk Delicious drizzled on salads although Teddy was clearly not impressed.

Lovely view of Fionnphort and the surrounding area first thing this morning from the top of the hill - can you see the old lighthouse keepers cottages on Erraid in the background? MV Loch Buie resting at the pier with the fish lorry filling up with the weeks catch of crabs and lobsters, probably off to Spain. A quick sweep across the sound to the iconic Iona and her Abbey. Turn up your volume and listen to that bird song - a great day to be alive. 😎

Auk conjures up magic - sitting in a wee corner of the kitchen quietly growing, I am now using home grown parsley, basil, oregano and sage in abundance. The smell and taste is amazing - fresh, dried and hopefully some herb infused olive oil too.

"Breakfast" refers to the first meal of the day, breaking the overnight fast. Emerging in written English around the 15th century, the word combines Old English "breakan" (break) and "fæstan" (fast), representing the end of a period without food.

Here at Seaview, breakfast is regarded as the most important meal of the day and our breakfasts are renowned around the world, so much so we have received an award by the AA in 'recognition of a very special, high-quality breakfast, with emphasis on freshly prepared local ingredients'. With multiple choices from a wide and varied menu, everything we offer at Seaview is prepared and freshly cooked to order.

Dine like a king. Nothing fancy, just pure quality.

And no hidden charges, nothing extra to pay, your breakfast is included in the price of your stay. 🤩
