You can walk there from the passenger Fast Cat terminal at the end of Ryde Pier in around 45 minutes (or get the bus in 10). If you are bringing the car you can drive from the car ferry terminal at Fishbourne in just 15 minutes. Seaview is a unique Edwardian seaside village with extensive views across the sea and Solent. It has a reputation for being an upmarket resort and as such is very popular with families and couples alike. During the summer months the village becomes a centre for sailing and watersports. The village boasts two beautiful beaches which are relatively quiet compared to busier Ryde, Ventnor or Sandown. There is an abundance of rockpools to discover and many great crabbing spots. It really does have something for everyone. Seaview falls quiet during the winter months and is an ideal winter get away - wrap up warm and walk along the beaches and surrounding countryside stopping occasionally for a drink or meal in one of the local cafes and pubs. Much of Seaview’s reputation is built on its panoramic sea views and great sandy beaches....
The beach of Springvale is just 100 yards from the flat offers some of the best of these views, straight across the Solent to Portsmouth, the Spinnaker Tower and the famous Solent forts. With its sandy shores, rockpools and gentle waters its ideal for families. Springvale can be really quiet so it feels like an unspoilt gem. The beach provides the ideal launch platform for boats and watersports. There is a yacht club to the east in the village and Seaview hosts a very popular regatta every summer. To the rear of Springvale is Puckpool Park, which is built within a former Victorian Fortification Battery and has tennis courts, mini-golf and a children’s play area as part of its beautiful gardens. There is also a really lovely tea room. The village sits directly behind the waterfront and contains several boutique style shops, cafes and restaurants. A five minute walk to the east of the village is Seagrove Bay offering gently sloping golden sands and quiet waters for swimming and other activities. Seagrove Beach won the Best Beach Award in 2020 and is a Blue Flag Beach. The sea wall to the rear of this beach is very popular for walks along to Priory Bay Beach, which has further great views and shallow sands with woodland behind the beach you will feel like you are on a dessert island! There are some highly regarded places to eat in Seaview and the nearby area with a great variety of restaurants and gastro pubs offering a wonderful range of food and drink. Once you have been to Seaview once you generally fall in love with it and come back again, and again, and again! And again!
