Small local abattoirs are essential to low food miles, animal welfare and traceability.
All our meat is slaughtered at A G Denny’s at Gillpin Bridge, 30 minutes from Sedbergh. Animals are always transported for slaughter by whoever has reared them to reduce stress.
Every animal is housed over night to reduce stress and we ask for the first slaughter slot in a morning so the animals are just waking up and least stressed.
🇬🇧🥩When there GONE, there’s NO bringing them back, all we will have left is a couple of big plants and lots of under regulated disease ridden imported meat flooding the country, also dictating the price they want. You’ve been warned use local butcher’s, farm shops or don’t complain when there not here any more!!……..🇬🇧🥩
