We seem to have a habit of attracting waifs & strays!
Felix has made himself very much at home in the cleaning container 🙄

"We absolutely LOVED our stay here. James was great. Very responsive and helpful. It was everything we were promised. Quiet, peaceful and a great place to relax. It is by far the cleanest place we have ever stayed. We will definitely be back."

Kim & Gail (and their two lovely dogs), who stayed in Lapwing.

Well, that's made our week. 😊

Now, "by far the cleanest place we have ever stayed". That is seriously high praise, and every word of it belongs to our cleaning team. The hard graft, the pride in their work and the eye for detail are all theirs. Thank you, team. You're fantabulous.

Quiet, peaceful and exactly as promised, that's music to our ears.

And James was "very responsive and helpful". That's me! I'm choosing to believe it and I won't be taking questions ;-)

Thank you, Kim & Gail. We'll keep the kettle on for you (and a biscuit for the dogs).

If Lapwing sounds like your kind of escape, you know where we are. Drop us a message and we'll check dates.

Apologies if I’ve been a little slow responding over the weekend, I’ve been on a road trip.
First, the Glamping Show at Stoneleigh
Then on to We Have Ways Fest near Silverstone
Finally an early morning tramp up the M1 for a lovely day at Bert’s Barrow attending their September Wedding Fayre, a busy few hours which kept me going after not a lot of sleep!
Normal service will be resumed tomorrow.
Carry on.

Happy customer alert!! What a lovely review from Mike, who stayed in Kingfisher Lodge this weekend:

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Mackinder Farm Holiday Accommodation and couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

The lodge was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and exceptionally well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is simply perfect—set in wonderfully private and secluded surroundings, giving you the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere, yet only a short distance from lovely walks into Selby and Burn, along with some fantastic nearby pubs.

The hosts were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They went above and beyond with recommendations for places to explore, eat, and drink, which really made our stay even more enjoyable.

If you’re looking for a peaceful countryside escape, that’s easy to find, without being too far from local amenities, this is the perfect place. We’ll definitely be returning. Five stars all the way!
