✨There is something slightly suspicious about how quiet it is here.
We sit right on the crossroads of an A road and a B road, which sounds, on paper, like the sort of thing one should avoid entirely.
And yet guests arrive, stand outside for a moment and say: “…but where is all the traffic?”
Truthfully, we are not entirely sure ourselves.
Perhaps the hills swallow the noise. Perhaps the sheep absorb it. Or perhaps the Yarrow Valley simply knows how to slow people down a little.
What we do know is this:
every room has a view, all year round.
Summer greens, winter snow, pink sunsets, low mist, golden mornings and skies that somehow never look the same twice.
The rooms are simple, comfortable and peaceful. The sort of rooms where people sleep unexpectedly well, leave the curtains open and quietly wonder why life cannot always feel a little more like this.
And downstairs there is lunch, dinner, good wine and Bryn cooking with maximum flavour and minimum fuss. Proper cooking, without too many tweezers, “dots” or “foam” on the plate.
It’s not the Ritz, but you’ll be treated like it is.
A good excuse for one, two or three quiet days away in the Scottish Borders.
And somehow, people who find the Yarrow Valley usually find themselves coming back.
