🌿 Wild Fridays are coming to Faldonside Eco! 🌿

Looking for an unforgettable Friday afternoon for your child?

Our Wild Fridays are all about getting outside, getting muddy, making friends, and discovering the magic of nature.

Each week, children aged 5–11 will spend the afternoon exploring the woods, building dens, learning bushcraft skills, cooking over the fire, using tools safely, creating nature-inspired crafts, playing woodland games, and spotting wildlife. Every session is child-led, allowing curiosity and imagination to shape the adventure.

There’s no pressure, no screens—just fresh air, freedom to explore, and the chance to build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong connection with nature.

The Romans Are Coming to the Borders!

Get ready for a day of living history as the Roman and Iron Age worlds come to life in the Scottish Borders.

Meet Roman soldiers and Iron Age communities, explore ancient crafts and skills, and discover what life was like on the northern frontier of the Roman Empire nearly two thousand years ago.

With re-enactors, demonstrations and hands-on activities throughout the day, the festival will offer a lively glimpse into the people, cultures and conflicts that shaped this region in the Roman period.

For one month only, guided tours are available daily during August to see the art collection, interiors and furnishings at historic Bowhill.

It's July, which means Bowhill House reopens for Guided Tours in just one month's time!

Throughout August, you can step inside and discover rooms rarely open to the public. While essential maintenance continues in parts of the House, the Victorian Home Tour will take you through nine beautiful rooms, combining much-loved favourites with spaces not usually included on the standard route.

Led by our knowledgeable Guides, each tour is packed with stories, history and plenty of fascinating insights.
