Not the usual bird life we are used to seeing but proof that there is always fun to be had at the Loch. We still have some availability throughout July and August so why not have a few days doing what you enjoy most in this beautiful countryside.

Maybe a sign that Spring is on its way to St Mary’s Loch. This beautiful Goldcrest (the UK’s smallest bird) kept me company, just outside the window, as I was working in the cottage yesterday. What an absolute treat. We also had our first sighting of an Osprey this morning, although no picture unfortunately.

We look forward to welcoming our guests to Half House again this year. Check for availability and get yourselves booked in!

We have had a cancellation and, therefore, have availability from 31 July to 8 August 2021. We are still waiving our requirement for a deposit so it is best to contact me directly to make a booking. I cannot guarantee that Mr P (which is what we call our resident male pheasant) will be looking quite as resplendent in August but there is plenty of wildlife to watch and enjoy at St Mary’s Loch.

The yurt is looking beautiful in the mid summer sunshine.
One of our last guests(age 8) said "you don't have a garden, you have a woodland experience!"

It’s looking like we will be allowed to open from 26 April 2021. Use our booking system to check future dates but please phone or email before confirming an online booking. We can hold dates for you without the usual deposit. In that event we would only require full payment one week before arrival. (This saves us having to make refunds if your situation changes close to your holiday dates.)

Unfortunately we are obliged to close again due to changes to Covid restrictions. This is liable to continue into the early part of 2021. By all means try entering some dates on the booking page to see what’s what but do not follow through with an actual booking before phoning or emailing directly.

Due to the recent changes in the English government guidelines some of our guests who were due to come to the cottage in November have had to cancel, We therefore have some late availability for 10 to 26 November, or any part thereof, for a minimum 3 night stay. Please contact me if you are interested in booking and obviously only if is permissible for you to travel from your area at this time.

We are now fully booked throughout October so apologies if you were hoping for a late booking with us. However, we still have some dates available in November and December. Although the Scottish weather can be a bit unpredictable, Adrian has recently refurbished the cottage wood burner back to its former glory, so warmth and cosiness are guaranteed in the wee hoose. Thankfully, the wood burner is now back in the cottage and not in the workshop!
