The Fontmell, in Fontmell Magna in Dorset, between Cranborne Chase and the Blackmore Vale has six beautiful bedrooms, the sort of bar you will never want to leave and a restaurant dining room that feels like a country house library. With the windows open the babbling water creates a serene environment in which to eat and relax. The Fontmell is the perfect place to stay for a weekend away in Dorset

To all our customers and friends,

Is with great sadness that Sarah and myself decided to not renew the lease at the Fontmell , seeing out term at the pub to end on the last day of August 2026. The pub will go on the market next week ..

There are a few reasons why but the main reason is the fact my health will not allow me to continue the massive work load that running a pub involves, unfortunately I Been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure and will be required dialysis in the near future, and may be a possibility of a kidney transplant.
I would like to thank you all for all your support and kindness over the last three years . And hope you can continue to support us for the remainder of our time here.
Please I ask you to respect our decision at this difficult time for our family.
Also a massive thank you to all our amazing staff for their hard work over the last 3 years .
