We are so excited to welcome local landscape archaeologist Kelly Wetherick to the hotel this autumn!

Kelly is a wonderful heritage professional and educator based right here on the Isle of Wight. Her work explores the deep relationship between people, memory and landscape, and she specialises in bringing the past to life through both its physical remains and lived human experiences.

Kelly will personally guide you through the Island's fascinating history. You will get to step straight into the story with expert-led walks across Shanklin Down and Sandown Bay, followed by inspiring evening talks right here at the hotel covering everything from the landscapes of ancient Vectis to Roman rule. We would like to introduce you to the man behind the most important meal of the day. If you have enjoyed a morning with us, you have likely tasted the handiwork of our breakfast chef, Steve.

As our resident early bird, Steve is in the kitchen long before most of us are awake, busy preparing hearty breakfasts to ensure everyone is well-fuelled for the day ahead. Whether you are heading out for a walk or have a busy morning of meetings, he makes sure you start off on the right foot.

He has certainly earned his title as the , and his passion for a proper breakfast really shows in every plate that leaves the kitchen.

We are very lucky to have him on the team. Next time you are enjoying your breakfast, join us in thanking Steve for such a great start to the morning!
