Well, it took a while, but after negotiations with the local planning authority, we finally got permission to build and expand our guest house here in Shanklin.

We’re pleased to announce that as from today, the 1st of April 2026, we can offer more guest accommodation at the Snowdon House.

With the recent heavy rain and flooding, we wanted to share a helpful tip that may reduce damage to homes and businesses. 🏠💧

Please take a look at the diagram shown, which demonstrates how to use sandbags and a tarpaulin together to help keep floodwater and rain out.

We stock sandbags (without sand), tarpaulins, and tape at all of our branches, so support is close by if you need it. 🛠️

As we mark 25 years as owners and proprietors of Snowdon House on Queens Road, Shanklin, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to every guest who has walked through our doors since 2001.

What began as a new chapter for us has grown into a truly special journey filled with friendships, stories, and countless memories.

To all our guests — whether you stayed once, visited many times, or return year after year — thank you. Your support, kindness, and loyalty have shaped Snowdon House into the warm, welcoming place it is today. Seeing familiar faces come back season after season has been one of the greatest joys of our work.
