Many of our guests who we welcome to the hotel are couples, and often celebrate anniversaries, birthdays and other special occasions. Our premier suite boasts beautiful views of the sea for you and your loved one to wake up to, and as the sun sets, the atmosphere becomes dreamy and romantic as the sky sets into a soft meandering wave of pink and orange hues.

Our Snug Bar hosts a range of Isle of Wight drinks from goddards brewery, Adgestone and more. The best thing about living on the island and being part of the island life is the community-feel that we have here, and the vast array of brilliant locally-made produce that's right on our doorsteps. For places like the Isle of Wight, it's so important that we support one another and keep business here, and that's why you'll see so much of what we offer coming from fellow island companies.

Our breakfasts have consistently gotten their praises over the years, which are rightfuly deserved. We have a beautiful breakfast buffet every morning boasting fresh fruit, a range of cereals, juices, yoghurts, nuts and dried fruit, homemade marmalade and jams. We also have a cooked breakfast menu offering a full english breakfast (with a vegatarian option), our signature dish and more.

Our breakfast service is also open to non-residents however, booking is required in advance. 8am-10pm. £14.50pp

We've been so blessed with beautiful weather over the last couple of weeks, and it's been a joy to host our guests and non-residents (some new faces and many familiar ones) in our rooms, coffee lounge and garden.

All of our cakes, scones and biscuits are lovingly baked onsite - so why not come down and treat yourself to a cream tea for two with a loved one? Our garden overlooks the gorgeous bay, and on days like these it looks just like the mediterranean.

A couple of weeks ago, we shared the delicately crafted hand-made cushions and toys created lovingly by Carys, one of the owners of The Clifton. We thought we'd share a snippet of one of the bedrooms.

Each room has been refurbished in the last number of years, not one of them is the same as another. Every room has a handmade crotchet blanket and embroidered cushions, as well as framed tapestries on the walls. We take pride in being repeatedly told that we're like a home-away-from-home from many of our happy guests who've stayed with us (and continue to return to us!) over the years - and we're not surprised.

The entire hotel has been furnished and decorated to a warm atmosphere - spot the array of Tiffany-inspired lampshades, turkish rugs and assortment of hand-crafted bits and pieces throughout the building. To top it all off, we also have a games-cupboard hosting a delightful choice of board and card games, as well as bookshelves across the floors of our Victorian building which all our guests are encouraged to use as they please, with handmade and designed bookmarks to take home as a keepsake from your holiday away.

Choose from a cosy sea-view room, a deluxe king room, standard deluxe, bay view or twin room; or treat yourself and choose our premier suite or balcony bay-view room and you definitely won't be disappointed.

To enhance the peaceful air of our hotel, we also only allow children over the age of ten, and as much as we do love and appreciate our furry four-legged friends - we are a pet-free accommodation. A peaceful and relaxing atmosphere is what we're best known for, right by the sea. So choose to curl up by the window as you overlook the views of Sandown Bay, or put your feet up in our award winning-garden, close your eyes and just take in the serenity. You deserve it.

Thankyou Nick for providing us with some lovely feedback to read through after staying with us for a couple of days. We must say, even if we do say so ourselves, the views and experience that you have when you stay in our premier suite or balcony bay-view rooms are truly incredible, especially if you're fortunate and have clear skies and warm weather for your stay.

There's nothing better than waking up in the morning to the view of the sea, and relaxing on the balcony as you sip a morning latte or tea, with a slice of our homemade cakes if you're feeling like treating yourself as the cherry on top!

Our location is prime - we're tucked away enough to have peaceful air but close enough to the main attractions in Shanklin so that you're no more than a fifteen minute stroll from Shanklin Chine, Shanklin Esplanade, the Old Village and the high street. Our small and friendly team, as well as the warm and inviting decor create an atmosphere of home-away-from-home which we've repeatedly been told by guests and coffee-lounge visitors.
