Clarence House is in an ideal position to explore and savour the delights of an Island that has been hosting visitors since the golden age of Queen Victoria. Family owned and run, Clarence House is open all year round, excepting Christmas and New Year. The island is bursting with exciting attractions of every kind, from Zoo, and Amazon animals, to Roman villas, vineyards, Manor Houses, ancient Chines, picturesque Victorian seaside towns, and miles of golden sandy beaches. The island was the favourite seaside haunt of Queen Victoria, and Osborne House, her summer palace, is a top attraction in its own right. The Isle of Wight is now known as the Jurassic Capital of Britain, since it is now the richest site of prehistoric animal remains. Island produce is second to none, with tomatoes, garlic, and chillis being the headline bumper crops that feed vast areas of the whole of the UK and beyond. The sweet-flavoured crops benefit from the extended sunshine hours that the island’s eco climate offers. Year after year, Shanklin boasts the most sunshine hours in the whole of the UK, which is why many thousands of visitors return year after year. Whatever your style, the island has something to offer you: theatres, festivals, music, history, skating, tree climbing, antiques, canoeing, walking, cycling, fishing, birds of prey, fine food, ancient villages, arts and crafts, award-winning ice-creams, beers, wines, and ciders, two theme parks, and most of all, the chance to really, really relax. Even though Clarence House has only been open for five years, some guests have already returned eight or ten times. They know they can be assured of top-quality, friendly hospitality, gleamingly clean accommodation, superb breakfasts and great service. Join us at Clarence House, relax in the peaceful, comfortable surroundings, and experience this great ‘home from home’ welcome for yourself. As you board the ferry, leave your worries behind you! You will find that you give an involuntary little sigh as the ferry makes its way over the Solent to your holiday destination, and the sigh is saying, ‘Relax, you are going to have a great holiday!’
