We stayed in one of the ground floor apartments (The Burrow), which was clean, comfortable and very cosy. The apartment was fully equipped with everything needed for our stay. The hosts had even provided a pint of milk to get us started which was thoughtful and much appreciated!
The communal utility room was packed, not only with washing machines and dryers, but also an abundance of books, dvds and board games. We even noticed high chairs for those bringing young children! Our apartment had a small adjoining outdoor seating area with a table and two chairs which was secluded and lovely to sit in after a tiring and adventurous day out. I loved that the outdoor heated pool was also secluded and the pool and garden area was only accessible by guests.
The location of the apartment was a stone's throw from one of the island's frequent bus services (no. 3) which serves the East of the island and also into the centre of the island arriving at Newport. This was a selling point for us as we do not drive and wanted to be able to explore the island without having to walk too far to catch a bus.
One of the island's favourite attractions, Shanklin Chine, is also a 2 minute walk away. Here's a tip: If you are staying at the apartment for several days, always visit the Chine at the beginning of your stay as you will be permitted to walk through the Chine (for easy access to Shanklin beach) for the rest of the week by showing your original ticket!
If you are looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay, with easy access to exploring the island then I would happily recommend Luccombe Villa Holiday Apartments. You couldn't ask for better hosts. Chris and Katie were on hand to deal with any queries and were both welcoming and friendly on our arrival and throughout our stay. We have already booked to return next year!
