The home of the JSRA- British Jetsport Championships returns to Rother Valley Country Park on 27 and 28 June 🌊

Watch some of the UK's top jet ski racers take to the water as they battle it out in a series of high-speed races, showcasing incredible skill, this is your chance to see British jet ski racing up close.

While you're here, why not make a day of it? Enjoy a walk around the park, visit The Waterfront for food and drinks, or simply relax and watch the action unfold.

☀️ With warm weather forecast this week, please remember that swimming in open water is dangerous, even when the water looks calm.

While the lakes may look inviting, conditions beneath the surface can be very different to what you might expect. Hidden hazards, cold water temperatures and cold water shock can all pose serious risks, regardless of how warm it feels outside.

Please take a moment to watch this video and share this important safety advice with family and friends. By spreading awareness, we can all help keep people safe around the water this summer.

🚴 Free Bike Safety Checks at Rother Valley Country Park.

Heading to the park tomorrow? Why not give your bike a quick health check too!

Journey Matters will be at Rother Valley Country Park from 10 am to 3 pm, offering free bike safety checks, tune-ups and minor repairs to help keep you riding safely this summer ☀️

You'll find them in the main car park as you drive into the park, near the coach parking area and EV charging points.

The team will also be available to talk about their free bike loan scheme, which offers electric and pedal bikes on loan for between one and three months to people who live, work or study full-time within the Rotherham postcode area.

Can't make it tomorrow? They'll also be back on 10 August and 18 August, so be sure to mark your calendars 📅

Wow what a day!
Today we ran our first ever session in our woodland classroom. We ran a wicker basket weaving session. Our wonderful volunteers Trevor and Linda expertly lead the session and it went brilliantly!
It wasn't easy. The base was especially tricky to create, but with their expert guidance, Trevor and Linda successfully helped everyone to create their very own berry basket. Huge thanks to all that came and especially for being our test pilots!
We will be running more sessions over the summer, aimed at both kids and adults.

⚠️ Visitor Notice – Busy Weekend Expected at Rother Valley Country Park

The weather is looking fantastic this weekend, and we know you'll all be keen to get outside and make the most of it!

With warm sunshine forecast and events taking place across the park, we're expecting exceptionally high visitor numbers throughout the weekend.

🏃 Saturday a Parkrun will be taking place as usual.
🚴 Sunday a triathlon and duathlon event will be taking place, with activity on site from early morning.

As a result, the park is expected to be extremely busy, and parking is likely to fill up early.

To help ease congestion, we'd encourage visitors to consider alternative days or quieter visiting times where possible.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope everyone enjoys the sunshine responsibly☀️

Designed with accessibility and convenience in mind, the upgraded facilities now feature separate male and female toilets, accessible toilet facilities, dedicated baby changing facilities, and a refreshed layout with modern interiors.

These improvements form part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the visitor experience and ensuring that everyone can enjoy their time at Rother Valley Country Park.

whether you’re taking on your first multi-sport event or chasing a new personal best, there is no cut-off times, it’s all about enjoying the race at your own pace in one of the region’s favourite event locations 🌟

Yesterday’s Water Safety Event was a fantastic success as part of Drowning Prevention Week.

We were delighted to welcome so many families who got involved and learned vital water safety skills.

A special thankyou to the Rotherham Mayor, who joined us to present certificates to the children who took part, a brilliant way to recognise their efforts and encourage confidence around water 👏

Everyone who helped make the event possible shared their knowledge, experience and training, giving children a valuable understanding of how to stay safe near open water environments.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and supported the day. It was a brilliant community effort and a really positive event all round 🏞️
