A few days, a small group and just the right amount of time to reconnect to yourself.

Settle in for some of our favourite moments from SHIFT, Camp Kerala’s weekend wellness immersion that blends ancient practices with modern science to create an immersive journey of connection, vitality and renewal.

The qigong always opens you and helps you embrace the quiet after it. Mornings smell like whatever’s on the stove before your eyes are properly open. Someone’s already out foraging while you’re still half asleep. By the second day your shoulders have dropped something you didn’t realise they’d been holding on to.

Dinner on the last night runs long. Nobody checks a watch or wants to leave the group that now feels like family.

Our next immersion is Thursday 5th November to Sunday 8th November at Benham Park, Berkshire.

Ask anyone who’s been and they’ll struggle to explain it properly. Something happens somewhere between arrival and whatever comes next and it’s the same something every time, wherever in the world we are.

There’s five things behind it. Swipe through.

Arron has spent over twenty years working in health and fitness, more than half of it exploring qigong and Chinese medicine and he still describes himself as a student of it.

His craft is qigong, breathwork and movement and the real focus is always on how those practices can shift us, physically and mentally, not just for an hour on a mat but for however long the effect lasts after.

The detail he notices that most people miss is breathing. He says you can learn a huge amount from someone’s breath alone, their energy, their tension, their stress levels, even how present they actually are and he finds himself reading it constantly.

SHIFT was built for periods of change and transition and Arron says what he loves most is watching that unfold in real time. Someone arrives carrying a lot. A few days later, something in them has softened. Creating the space for that, alongside a group of practitioners he genuinely admires, is what keeps him coming back.

For Arron the extraordinary is simple: movement, breath and getting outside. Qigong forces him to slow down, get out of his head and reconnect with what’s actually happening in his body, which matters more than it sounds, because by his own admission he naturally moves through life at a fairly fast pace. Presence, for him, is something practised rather than something that just happens.

Every Camp Kerala Shikar tent begins the same way, in the hands of craftsmen in India whose skill cannot be rushed or replicated. It is a relationship we protect as carefully as anything else we do.

This memory from Jen shows why that partnership sits at the heart of Camp Kerala and why our Shikar tents are so incredibly unique and beautiful.

Everyone here followed a passion further than most people ever do.

Long before any of it had anything to do with Shikar tents or festivals or experiences, everyone at Camp Kerala had already spent years getting good at something else entirely. A bar, a garden, a room full of people and how to read it.

That’s probably why nothing here ever quite looks like anything else. Not because someone decided it should be different, but because it was never built by people copying a brief in the first place.

That kind of closeness to a craft comes from somewhere. Years spent noticing things, drawing from places travelled to and rooms worked in, a whole well of influence that shapes how each person sees their own craft differently.

Someone has an idea over dinner, or halfway through setting up for the evening, or watching a crowd for the tenth summer running. More often than not, it ends up somewhere in the world we build.

Our people are our magic. Everything else is just where it happens.

This is what release, reset and rebuild actually looks like over three days.

From the room already waiting for you, to grounding qigong before you’ve said a word, a table of strangers who aren’t strangers by dinner, a sound bath that closes the first day without needing to say much. Cold water before the mind can argue, ground foraged then eaten within hours, a morning of stillness and pages filling. Questions from Roger Moore that rearrange things you couldn’t settle, movement that isn’t a workout, breath doing what words couldn’t, a final dinner nobody’s rushing to leave. Then it’s Sunday and you’re taking home so much more than your case.

Not a retreat or an escape, but three days releasing, resetting and rebuilding together, inside a private Georgian estate with world class hospitality and nothing left to chance.

The next SHIFT is this November at Benham Park Events. Spaces are now available, enquire via our link in bio.

Georgia grew up on this land before it was ever a business people wrote articles about. She remembers when it was friends putting up tents by hand and dragging tables across wet grass, long before anyone called it Camp Kerala.

Twenty years later the same field has a gym, a sauna, ice baths, two restaurants, live entertainment, IV drips and a full spa. Our world kept growing because the family kept asking what would actually make the next visit better than the last. Then they built it.

That’s the reason people keep coming back every year. Not one big idea, twenty years of small ones, all built by the same family who were there from the very start.

SHIFT isn’t for everyone. It’s for the person who has stopped settling for less than the best version of everything, including themselves.

Three days at . The grounds at dawn before anyone else is moving, surrendering to the ancient practice of Qigong as the light comes up. A breathwork session that leaves you altered in ways people find difficult to articulate afterwards. A foraging walk through the estate that turns out to be more grounding than anyone predicted. An ice bath. A sauna. A sound bath. Uninterrupted time with one of the world’s leading transformational therapists.

And then a table. Food that belongs in a restaurant that takes months to book, eaten with people you met three days ago and already don’t want to leave. Accommodation that makes the outside world feel very far away, which, by that point, is exactly right.

This is what three days looks like when nothing has been left to chance.

All underpinned by our partnership with TONIQ, whose approach to movement and restoration sits at exactly the point where science and traditional Eastern wisdom meet.

Before any guest arrives, before the first drink is poured or the first course lands on the table, there are days that look like this.

A Camp Kerala flag being planted in Thai soil. Two people wrist-deep in white peonies, working out where every single stem goes. Someone writing the day’s specials by hand on a board the size of a wall, because even the things people glance at for thirty seconds deserve that kind of care. Perfectly spherical ice, each one marked with the Camp Kerala star, set into glasses one by one before the bar opens.

For us, it’s the smallest, yet far from simplest details that add up to the world you feel when you walk in.

The setup is its own kind of spectacle. The energy in those hours before the doors open is every bit as alive as the event itself, carried by a team who bring the Camp Kerala spirit to every corner of every world we make, wherever in the world we happen to be building it.

This is what it looks like from the other side. A festival in Thailand, thousands of miles from home, and our standard doesn’t move an inch.
