What an insane week! On Wednesday I done the Wroxham 5k and got myself a PB of 24:01 challenge 21/40 ✔️.
Sunday I done the Outlaw Holkham Half Triathlon.... NEVER again.... The swim (1.2miles) couldn't have gone any worse, having a panick attack and inhaling so much water (and duck poo), a boat came out to rescue me and wanted to take me off to be seen by paramedics, but with a lovely lady in her kayak beside me I carried on and made it to the pontoon with minutes to spare before the cut off. I truly believed that once on land I would be absolutely fine to carry on, but my lungs completely disagreed with me, I couldn't get my breath to push as hard as I wanted on the bike (56miles) and again only just made it through before the cut off. The run (13.1miles) was 3 laps, the scenery was beautiful and a run I would usually love but I couldn't get my breath and was still coughing from all the wayer i took in, in the lake so it was much more of a walk than a run, seeing that orange carpet at the end was the best feeling ever and seeing my friends waiting for me was magical, it was a tough and emotional day.
I was the last out of the lake, I did manage to make it up a bit on the bike and the run, I finished the 70.3 miles in 8:29:03 the cut off was 9 hours so too close for comfort. I certainly put everything I had in to earn this medal.
Next race is on Sunday, I have still got a horrible cough and don't think my lungs will be ready to race but I will get round the course, I am on anti biotics so hopefully they can work some magic by then.
As for swimming..... I have one more big event in september- a 2 mile swim, after that I am hanging up my goggles and retiring 🤣
