Cotswolds Camping at Holycombe We are in the Heart of England. Camping and glamping at Holycombe, on the site of Whichford Castle, near Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire.

We would love to welcome you to our campsite situated in the beautiful North Cotswold village of Whichford, near the Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire borders. We are in the Heart of England, in the middle of everywhere. Come and share this special place, experience the peace of the historic land and the sounds of nature. Holycombe is situated in the picturesque North C

otswolds, in close proximity to many beautiful Cotswold towns and villages. With plenty to explore in the vicinity, this is an excellent place to base yourselves on your camping adventure. Our beautiful five-acre camp site is situated where a Norman castle once stood, the legacy of which is the splendid water-filled moat, home to carp, ducks, moor hens, and Canada geese. Holycombe (taking its name from combe ‘valley’ and the nearby Holy Well spring) is situated adjacent to Whichford Wood, which boasts a wealth of flora and fauna. It’s also located a short walk from the Norman Knight, a classic, award winning Cotswold pub, which serves excellent grub and has great live music nights. So after a walk in the woods, or a pint up the road, you can roll back here, light a campfire, and enjoy this peaceful and charming place.

From the New Owners of the Norman Knight pub in Whichford

Dear All

As many of you will have noticed, The Norman Knight is currently undergoing a major refurbishment. The intention was to reopen in early summer, but as is often the case with old buildings, we’ve encountered some unforeseen issues that may delay the reopening slightly. Rest assured, we’re doing everything we can to bring the pub back to life as soon as possible.

I’m pleased to share that the new operators will be the team behind The Potted Goose, who currently run The Kingham Plough, The Hare in Milton-under-Wychwood, and The Crown in Church Enstone—each of them known for great food, warm hospitality, and thoughtful curation.

In the meantime, the Third Thursday (TT) gatherings continue to be a popular fixture in the village calendar. These are now supported by a pop-up bar and, most excitingly, food service—so do come along, catch up with friends and neighbours, and raise a glass to the future of the pub.

Thank you for your continued support and patience — we can’t wait to welcome you back to The Norman Knight very soon.
