So grateful to The Buttermarket and everyone involved for leading these projects, we’re located in abbey foregate and super excited about all these changes to improve what is already a wonderful part of Shrewsbury 🎉

❤️ ABBEY FOREGATE IS CHANGING… BUT WHICH IMPROVEMENT GETS YOUR VOTE?

It’s been a busy week in Abbey Foregate, with several new improvements now in place - and it’s great to see some of the ideas discussed during last year’s consultation with Shrewsbury BID becoming a reality.

So, of the changes completed this week, which is YOUR favourite? 👇

1️⃣ The new diagonal parking – making better use of the available road space and creating additional parking. Plus an additional Blue Badge disabled space.

2️⃣ The new parklet & public seating – bringing more greenery and somewhere to sit, meet and enjoy this historic part of Shrewsbury. 🌿

3️⃣ The new History Window – celebrating the fascinating history and heritage of Abbey Foregate. ❤️

And there’s plenty more to come! 👀

🌳 Work is continuing on the Abbey Foregate Pocket Park beside the railway bridge and Hair 21, where we're transforming a previously unused piece of land owned by Martin Monahan , our boss at The Buttermarket, into a new community space with public seating, planting, a community garden, cycle facilities and free public WiFi.

He's still aiming to have the Pocket Park completed by the end of September – and we can't wait to see the whole area coming together.

For now though…

WHICH GETS YOUR VOTE?

1️⃣, 2️⃣ or 3️⃣?
