Around the patio are colourful plants and shrubs. The accommodation is Walker and Cyclist Friendly. Drying facilities for wet weather gear can be provided in the main house and lockable bike storage is also available. We also offer free off-road parking. Travel here is possible by train to our local station in Wem, with onward 4 mile journey by taxi. Northwood is a small scattered village located on the English/Welsh border just 15 miles north of historic Shrewsbury, the birth place of Charles Darwin. The village has a well regarded dining pub, the Horse & Jockey, which is just a short walk away. There are a further two excellent dining pubs located in the nearby villages of Loppington and Welshampton. For day-to-day needs, Northwood is nestled in the midst of three pretty market towns - Wem, Ellesmere and Whitchurch. There are also several farm shops and local producers that you can visit by car or that could deliver. This Hideaway for two in Northwood is in the perfect location! It offers guests an ideal base for a short relaxing countryside break, with lots to do and see on foot, by cycle or car, or as a longer holiday location where guests also want to explore places further afield. Discover the Shropshire Hills, a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; explore the unique Fenn's Whixall & Bettisfield Mosses Natural Nature Reserve; walk or cycle the Llangollen & Whitchurch canal paths; or visit the Shropshire lakes known as "The Meres". Go boating on the River Severn in Shrewsbury; or visit medieval Ludlow and Chester; there's the Ironbridge World Heritage Site and Wroxeter Roman Ruins; National Trust properties such as Erddig Hall, Chirk Castle and Attingham Park; or take a trip over the border to Llangollen, stunning Snowdonia or the North Wales coast.
