Chatford Roost

Shrewsbury 5 miles. A delightful, Grade II listed barn conversion located adjacent to a quiet working livestock farm, in the tiny hamlet of Chatford, 2.5 miles from Bayston Hill, in the popular county of Shropshire. This former agricultural brick-built barn, dating back to the 1830s, has been lovingly restored into a pretty, welcoming cottage, set in an idyllic rural location. Beau

tifully renovated, the cottage offers modern open plan living downstairs, ideal for families or couples looking to explore this area. Entering into the stylish fitted kitchen you will immediately be taken by the cosy, well-equipped accommodation, with the dining room centrally located in a high galleried hallway, with A frame beams set in the wall. The sitting area has further exposed beams, an external stable door and a warming characterful woodburner recessed in a small inglenook fireplace; perfect for relaxing on the reclining chairs and warming your toes in front of the glowing embers. Upstairs, off the mezzanine half-landing, two separate staircases lead to a double bedroom and a twin room with zip/link beds that can be converted to make a super king-size room if required. Both bedrooms benefit from en-suite facilities and have a TV/DVD. Outside, parking is accessed from the enclosed courtyard and lawn, through an outbuilding where bikes can be safely stored. There is a wealth of walking opportunities with numerous footpaths leading through the 100 acres of farm land, offering unspoilt trails from the doorstep, and joining up with the Shropshire Way within a mile. The Stiperstones and the Stretton Hills provide further rambling opportunities, plus for cyclists, there is the bonus of National Cycle Route 44 passing close by. It's been a tough year but great to receive the following feedback from out our guests -
Comment: We had a wonderful time. The cottage was very comfortable and homely. The owners, James and Jackie were very welcoming and went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Will definitely return.
Comment: A beautifully renovated barn in a lovely, tranquil setting. Very well equipped. Comfortable seating in lounge (big leather recliners) and very comfortable beds. Just off the A49, so easy to explore this beautiful part of the world. Jackie, James and lovely dogs, Pippa and Summer, made us very welcome.
It really has been a pleasure to welcome guests again and it's always a sad to say goodbye at the end of their holidays!☺️

Just had the following feed back from some lovely people who stayed at Chatford Roost over New Year.....The cottage was superbly renovated, furnished and provided excellent facilities. We found it worked very well for 2 couples, providing separate and private en-suite bedrooms. We also LOVED the reclining armchairs and sofa! So comfortable.
We are planning a return visit in spring/summer to explore the beautiful area properly.
