Springtime is here. We were lucky enough to hear the booming Bittern from the garden too.

Summer at Lakeside. The flowers are blooming and the wildlife is everywhere. Just today saw two slow worms in the garden who were enjoying the long grass we have left for them.
On a walk around the nature reserve we saw roe deer and so many beautiful flowers.

Springtime at Lakeside Cottage is in full bloom.
The birds have been enjoying the recent weather - water rail, Cettis Warbler, Willow Warbler, Chiff Chaff, Bullfinch and Goldfinch to name but a few that have been heard from the garden.
Not been lucky enough to hear the bittern yet.

Beautiful, crisp winter walks from the cottage. Signs of spring everywhere. There’s something to see at all times of year.

Welcome signs of spring abound.

The snowdrops at Gait Barrows are making a good show just now. These delightful flowers are among the first to flower heralding the spring to come. Sheathed in strappy, bright green or greyish leaves, thin stems dangle bell-like white flowers, outer petals flaring to reveal shorter inner ones touched with green. Some have double flowers.
