It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our warm and welcoming environment, where residents and staff also enjoyed a special visit from George, the Therapy Pony, making the day even more memorable.

All are welcome to Pine Lodge Care Home Open Week, running from 24th-30th June. Our special theme is a ‘Wild West Showdown’ 🤠where our saloon doors will be open to our local community to come and take a look and celebrate what we do! Our daily program includes so many amazing activities including a Calamity Jane Afternoon Tea, a Country Rock Show, George our Therapy Cowboy Pony and a Texan BBQ! so come join in the fun!! Calling all Families!!! I am planning a new game for our residents… our very own version of ‘who’s who???’ It would be great if as many families as possible can send in one clear picture (spare photo or photocopy) of their loved one so our residents can see if they can spot themselves or regognise others from years ago. As well as being lots of fun, (as I’m hoping we may have a few interesting hair styles and clothing 😂) it will be a wonderful trip down memory lane, encouraging lots of lovely conversation’s between our residents, please place any photos in an envelope marked for my attention, Many thanks for your support, as always Dom 🥰🥰

St. George’s Day celebrations continued after lunch and got a huge thumbs up from our residents, when a local Ukelele band ‘Up the Creek’ entertained us with an amazing cheeky sing a long! One of our residents even brought his own Ukelele down and had it tuned by Dave Coupland (leader of the band). A huge thank you, once again to the ‘Up the Creek’ band for giving us such a wonderful afternoon! A great time was had by all! 🎵🥰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🥰🎵

We’ve had a fantastic day celebrating St George’s Day. We started off, learning all about the myth of St George & the Dragon, then quizzed ourselves with all things English and learnt quite a few new facts! We finished off the morning with a fun Cockney rhyming slang challenge. After a delicious lunch of a very traditional English fayre of Beef Stew and dumplings served with mashed potato, followed by a resident favourite pudding - cheesecake! Well done Donna for the very scrumptious lunch! All washed down with beer and shandy! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🥰❤️
