What a team ❤️ well done girls 👏
MATCH REPORT
Corby Lynx U10 v Rushden & Diamonds U10s
Corby Lynx returned to league action on Saturday, ready for their second encounter of the season against Diamonds.
First Half
Corby were strong from kick off, giving Diamonds very little time on the ball. The girls were attacking with flair, playing some lovely football using Annabelle and Ivy on the wings.
Emily came close with her first shot of the game skimming the cross bar.
Not long left of the half, Frankie found herself with plenty of time outside the box to rifle the ball into the bottom corner - another fantastic strike for the second week running.
Second Half
The second half got off to a lively start, Diamonds starting to attack the Corby goal but Mila, Piper and Harper V were strong and resilient at the back, not letting much through to bother Marley in the goal.
The best goal of the game was about to unfold. Harper H found herself on the byline, one look up seen Wren unmarked in the box, the ball was inch perfect. Wren took a fantastic first touch that took the ball past the oncoming keeper and left an empty net to convert 👌
The battles continued in midfield with some good duels and strong tackles going in. Another ball through midfield found Harper H, who powered her shot into the bottom corner.
Corby weathered the storm at the back, defending corners very well and Mila making some last ditch tackles to protect the clean sheet.
Emily got herself on the score sheet, staying alert and pouncing on a defensive mix up to convert into an empty net.
Corby weren't done and in the final minutes, Wren dribbled in and looking to cross the ball in, an unfortunate deflection took the ball into the back of the net.
It was an absolute pleasure to watch the girls today, individually and as a team they were fantastic!
Thanks to Diamonds for yet another great encounter, It always delivers a brilliant game for those watching.
