Continuing our look at Moorside Farm Holiday Cottage in detail. 👇

Here is our twin room with two single beds. Outstanding views to all that big space that you don't have to share with a village.

Although we are approx 3 miles from Grassington, you can visit the village and then leave it all behind to find dark skies, peace and quiet.

The twin room is one of four rooms. You will find the large double room on the reel previous to this. We strongly encourage you to visit our website in our bio.

We love the character of this bedroom, especially the original beams from the old farmhouse and the view across the fields from the mezzanine Velux window. ❤️

❤️ £150 spent locally. A little goes a long way! ❤️

When my auntie came to Grassington, she didn't just enjoy a great stay at Moorside Farm Holiday Cottage. She helped support the very businesses that make our community so special.

We enjoyed some lovely food in an independent local café, then set off to find presents for her granddaughters, daughter, son-in-law, neighbours and friends. 🎁

But here's the thing. That £150 doesn't just disappear into a big company's profits. It helps keep our independent shops and cafés going, supports local jobs and can find its way back into the community.

For example, a local shopkeeper might use some of their earnings to pay for dance lessons for their children, supporting another local business in the process. So the circle continues.

My auntie came away with some lovely, quality gifts, and our local businesses received her hard-earned money. That's a win-win in my book!

We're so lucky to have independent shops and cafés offering quality, personal service and a little bit of character you just can't get everywhere. But they need our support to survive.

Such a pleasure once again for the 3rd year running to help the inspirational Hart Animals. Penny and Roger are amazing people and their animals! Well I'm smitten 🥰

I spoke to so many people yesterday at Yarndale I lost my voice. But worth every second to support this great organisation. Lots of children and adults enjoy learning about Alpasta, Alfie, Shakespeare, Peggy-sue and Seamus!

Thank you to each and everyone of you who said hello, bought a wonderful book based on the animals ( illustrated by Rob Keep - Grassington artist), bought fleece and gave a donation. The words of encouragement from people were wonderful.

If you haven't visited Yarndale, you must go once in a lifetime. The atmosphere is like nothing I've experienced before. Thank you to Emma and Kate for their commitment and amazing creative skill.

From a vintage lunchbox to Hebden, NR Darrowby… 🥪🎬

We love discovering the little details that make All Creatures Great and Small feel so authentic, and this has to be one of them.

This little vintage lunchbox made its way from the real world onto the All Creatures Great and Small set. Here it is with Jimmy!

The wonderful thing about filming is that you never quite know the stories behind the objects you see on screen. This particular lunchbox was sourced by House of Brunswick, who recently shared the brilliant story of how it left them and headed off to an action prop buyer working on a television production.

Then, this week, they spotted it again…
Not just sitting quietly in the background, but being carried to school in Hebden by Jimmy!

How brilliant is that? A tiny vintage object, with a whole life of its own, finding a new chapter in the Yorkshire Dales and becoming part of a programme loved by so many of us.

We were lucky enough to capture this little behind-the-scenes moment on set.

It takes a village to raise a child… 👇

I grew up near Grassington and went to two local schools, one of them being Grassington Primary. The other one 🤫… I’ll keep that story for another day!

Grassington has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I had my first drink in The Devonshire (now The Drovers), ran through the jakey to my friend’s house, played hide and seek in the streets, and rode up the main street of Grassington with my dad in his Land Rover.

I walked down Snake Pass (Sedber Lane) with my first boyfriend, and as a teenager I even worked in the museum.

I’ve had many firsts in Grassington… or, as many of you know it today, Darrowby.

Now as an adult, I’m still part of this community. If someone needs a helping hand, I’ll help if I can, whether I’m asked or simply notice someone needs it.

I’ve also been following the filming of All Creatures Great and Small since 2019. Like so many fans, I love the warmth, kindness and sense of community the programme portrays.

But there’s something rather special about knowing the real village behind Darrowby too.
