🐾 Dog of the Week! 🐾

This week’s Dog of the Week goes to our local resident, Wilf! 🤗

Wilf lives in the village with his paw-rents and is a regular visitor to the Inn. At 13 years young, this handsome Bedlington Terrier may be deaf and blind, but that certainly doesn’t stop him enjoying plenty of fuss, cuddles, and the occasional tasty treat! 🦴❤️

We always love seeing Wilf pop in for a visit and brighten our day.

We’ve had lots of new faces join us recently, so we thought it was time to re-introduce ourselves… 🤍

We’re a family-run country inn, and since taking over in 2017, we’ve poured our hearts into creating somewhere warm, welcoming and full of Yorkshire charm.

At the heart of it all are Phil & Sam, alongside their daughter Vicky and son-in-law Martin — the family behind the scenes making everything tick day to day.

✨ Phil is the face of the inn — always ready with a friendly smile, a good chat and the perfect pint.

🌿 Sam is our behind-the-scenes superstar, keeping everything running smoothly, from caring for our rooms to tending to the gardens and making the inn feel like home.

☕ Vicky juggles the admin, social media and bookings whilst also looking after our lovely lunchtime guests.

🍽️ Martin, our head chef, creates beautiful seasonal menus using locally sourced Yorkshire produce, bringing a little creativity to every plate.

Whether you’re joining us for a cosy dinner, a Sunday lunch, a weekend away or simply a quiet drink by the fire — we’re so grateful for every person who walks through our doors.

☀️ Sunshine, stunning views and one of our guests’ firm favourite walks… the Cracoe War Memorial to Rylstone Cross route. 🥾

Starting right here in Cracoe, this beautiful circular walk is around 7 miles and takes roughly 3.5–4 hours depending on pace and photo stops!

These iconic sheep pens sit at the foot of Cracoe Fell, right before you begin your ascent onto the fell. A true Yorkshire Dales landmark — and if you look closely, you can even spot the Cracoe War Memorial standing proudly on the skyline in the background.

After exploring the fells and taking in those breath taking Yorkshire Dales views, join us for a well-earned lunch, cold drink or coffee in the garden. 🌿🍴☀️

It's time for our annual break! 💛

After a busy start to the year, we will be closing from tomorrow (Sunday the 10th of May) and we will be back open on Wednesday the 20th of May. Rested and ready for what we hope to be a busy summer season! 🌞

A huge thank you to those of you who have visited us so far this year! We can't wait to see you all again when we re-open!

Meet this gorgeous pair of beagles, Olive & Ivy 🐶✨

They joined us this weekend for a delicious Sunday lunch with their family—and they were so perfectly behaved we almost forgot they were there!

Not their first visit either… and they definitely remembered that Phil is the man to see for Sunday treats 👀🐾

We can’t wait to welcome you all back to the Inn very soon!

Brewery Spotlight 🍺

This week we’re celebrating two brilliant Yorkshire brewers behind your pint!

Acorn Brewery – proudly brewing in Wombwell, Barnsley since 2003, combining South Yorkshire tradition with award-winning innovation. Their iconic Yorkshire Pride (3.7%) is a pale, crisp, ultra-refreshing ale bursting with citrus, tropical fruit, and smooth sessionable flavour.

Bradfield Brewery – born on a working farm in Bradfield, Sheffield, now brewing over 100,000 pints a week. Farmers Ale (3.9%) is a classic copper-coloured cask ale with floral English hops, smooth malt character, and a satisfyingly sharp finish.

Two local legends, two fantastic ales – which are you choosing at the bar? 🍻
