We have had an unexpected cancellation at Fell Beck from 27th March for 5 nights as our clients have decided not to fly due to the unrest in the Middle East. This is one of the most perfect times for visiting the Yorkshire Dales - the lambs are about, the daffodils are out and the ducklings are starting to appear on the River Wharfe. Plus the sunshine we’ve all been awaiting for so long is starting to appear more regularly bringing balmy days and longer evenings with it. Pick up the dates here:

As February’s dull days dwindle and the sun finds new strength to melt the last snow up on the Fells, we start to see the Yorkshire Dales blossom before our eyes. Daffodils begin to replace the oh-so-delicate snowdrops and contrast with the crocuses peeping through. Soon the primroses and bluebells will start to appear on Nature’s latest canvas and the dear little lambs will begin to entertain us again, skipping across the beck and paddling in the shallows of the river or running wild and free in lamb gangs!

At Fell Beck cottage in Burnsall we have a little availability left in March and April if you hurry and more in May, when Summer really starts to kick in. Take a look:

Hello! So - the clocks have gone back an hour - and up at Fell Beck Cottage things are getting cosier as we snuggle up and prepare for Winter. As the nights draw in, it’s time to get the log fire going and the mulled wine on the stove. Nothing more warming after a long walk on a crisp afternoon! No rush, just strolling along enjoying the fresh autumn air, the last rays of warmth from the sun as it dips and stopping to admire the breathtaking array of colours on the fells as the leaves treat us to their last displays before falling. It’s a lovely time up in the Dales. Peaceful and slower paced - a time to unwind and let go of the stresses of the year before knuckling down to prep for all the fun and excitement of the forthcoming Christmas Season.

Fell Beck is dog - friendly and available for a short 2 night break minimum- just long enough to get away from the city for a quick recharge of your batteries:

So here we are suddenly well into September. The evenings are starting to draw in and that extra sweater is making an occasional appearance! Up at Fell Beck Cottage we are fully booked until the end of September. But why not consider October for a change of scene? The Autumn days are often fine and mellow then. Walk by the tranquil river, watch the stunning sunset and wonder at the ever changing landscape as the greenery of Summer gives way to the gold, red and bronze of Autumn. Then step into the warmth and comfort of the village pub, settle by the crackling log fire with a well-earned pint and a wholesome plate of delicious locally sourced supper. Then stroll a few paces back to your cosy nest at Fell Beck and sink into the most comfortable bed for the most perfect sleep after all that fresh air. What’s not to like?
