🚨 PLEASE — THESE ARE NOT TOYS! 🚨

As campsite owners safety is priority to us and is a constant worry , In the kindest possible way We really need to ask everyone , current and future stayers to please speak to your children about our life-saving equipment around the campsite.

As you know, we have a lake on site where guests can enjoy swimming. For everyone’s safety, we are required to have lifebuoys / throw ropes positioned around the lake and campsite so that they are available in an emergency.

⚠️ THESE ARE FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY AND MUST BE LEFT ALONE.

Please do not play with them, throw them around, drag them away from their designated positions or allow children to use them as toys.

These pieces of equipment could quite literally save someone’s life. If they are moved, damaged or taken away from where they are meant to be, they may not be there when somebody genuinely needs them.

🙏 Parents and guardians, please make your children aware of how important these are. We want everyone to have fun, enjoy the campsite and make memories, but safety equipment needs to be treated with the seriousness it deserves.

I understand that they may look like toys in a child’s eyes but Please leave our life-saving equipment where it is. You never know when someone may need it. ❤️

Thank you so much for understanding our worries and concerns and for helping us keep everyone safe. 🛟

A little sadness at the campsite today 💛

Over the years, hundreds of our wonderful guests have left us handwritten notes, kind words and memories on our reception wall. It had become something really special to us—a colourful reminder of the amazing people who have stayed here and the friendships we’ve made along the way.

Sadly, someone chose to tear them all down.

We won’t be sharing who we believe was responsible, as we don’t want to create negativity or point fingers. We simply want to say how disappointing it is that something which brought so much happiness to ourselves and our guests could be destroyed.

Draughton Heights has always been about kindness, respect and creating happy memories. We hope those values continue to shine brighter than one thoughtless act.

To all of our past and future guests, thank you for your support. If you’ve ever left us a note, please know that it meant the world to us. 💛

We think it’s time to start our memory wall all over again. So next time you visit, we’d love for you to leave us a little message—we can’t wait to fill it with smiles once more. 🌿✨
