Nestling beneath the rising fells of Langstrothdale, The George Inn stands in a stunning location overlooking the infant river Wharfe. This traditional Dales Inn with flagged floors, stone walls and mullioned windows is the last remaining family owned free house in the parish of Buckden, Upper Wharfedale. d other primarily local breweries together with an excellent selection of wines and Malts are on offer in our unique inn. The George is centrally located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is ideal for touring, cycling or walking being directly on one of the most popular of all the walks - the Dales Way. Well appointed and very comfortable En-suite Accommodation available in our 6 letting bedrooms. We have four rooms located in the main pub building on the first floor and two more rooms in the coach house. Five rooms are en-suite. One of the coach house rooms is located on the ground floor and is more suitable for those who cannot manage steps easily. Enjoy the beauty of the Dales and then relax in our traditional and historic Dales country Inn, with excellent food and beer and a warm friendly welcoming atmosphere. We welcome well behaved dog friendly dogs in the bar and have one dog friendly letting room.

If you are in the area this evening (Thursday 28th May) Martin will be coming in with his guitar to sing us a few tunes from around 8.30pm. We only have one table available at 6pm but you can just join us for a drink or two.

Lots of exciting things going on this bank holiday weekend.

On Sunday we have the Morris Men at 12. We have a lot booked in already but the weather is looking good so hopefully we can serve outside.

On Monday and Tuesday we will be open from 12 for lunch as a bank holiday/ half term special. Monday night will be pie night and we will have a couple of tables Tuesday at 6.

Despite the road closure, this last week has been very busy. Lots of walkers and people carrying bikes (and dogs!) over the stiles. The road has remained closed over the weekend, we will provide an update as soon as we can.

We have had to turn down a lot of people trying to book evening meals on the day or walking in. All our rooms are fully booked for May, we only have a small restaurant so there’s only a few tables remaining each night for non residents. If you are planning a visit in the next few weeks and would like to join us for an evening meal, then give us a call or drop us an email to book.

🛌 Room 1 (double) Wednesday 20th May
🛌 Room 5 Sunday 24th May Monday 25th May
🛌Room 7 Tuesday 26th May
🛌 Room 7 Saturday 30th May.

Room 5 is our triple, 6 and 7 can be king or twin.

June is also booking up quickly, best to book in whilst you can!!
