Nestling beneath the rising fells of Langstrothdale, The George Inn stands in a stunning location overlooking the infant river Wharfe. This traditional Dales Inn with flagged floors, stone walls and mullioned windows is the last remaining family owned free house in the parish of Buckden, Upper Wharfedale. The George is centrally located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is ideal for touring, cycling or walking being directly on one of the most popular of all the walks - the Dales Way. Well appointed and very comfortable En-suite Accommodation available in our 6 letting bedrooms. We have four rooms located in the main pub building on the first floor and two more rooms in the coach house. Five rooms are en-suite. One of the coach house rooms is located on the ground floor and is more suitable for those who cannot manage steps easily. Enjoy the beauty of the Dales and then relax in our traditional and historic Dales country Inn, with excellent food and beer and a warm friendly welcoming atmosphere. We welcome well behaved dog friendly dogs in the bar and have one dog friendly letting room.

It’s still fairly warm here but not as hot as some places and much greener! If you fancy a trip to the Dales this weekend do drop in!
Tonight we are fully booked (Friday 14th) and only have 1 table available tomorrow night but we still have plenty of spaces left for our Sunday roast.

We also have space Saturday lunchtime.

Last Sunday was incredibly busy so please book so that you are not disappointed.

Today is the start of the Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival. YGreat if you are looking for something to do in the area, especially with kids.
We are only a 15 minute drive and have lots of outside tables if you fancy a drink.
We do get booked up for food very quickly and are nearly full tomorrow so we strongly advise checking ahead if you are coming for food. We do have some availability tomorrow between 12 and 12.30 for our Sunday roast.

8th-16th August. Car park is open from 9.30-4.30. Refreshments in the village hall.

We didn’t get much time to take pictures of The George all dressed up for the wedding at the weekend. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Ramsden and lots of love for your life together. A huge thank you to Team George as well as our additional helpers. Also to the ladies who not only did a fantastic job of the flowers in the church, they also made the pub look lovely too. 👰‍♀️🤵⛪️💖
