Even though the weather’s having a mood of its own lately, we’ve still got good food, warm Yorkshire hospitality, and a proper pint waiting for you at The Buck 🍻✨

While our hotel rooms are getting a fresh new look, we’re open as usual in the bar - serving food 12-6pm Sun -Thurs and ’til 7pm on weekends.

We reopen this weekend and our beer garden is looking brand new - fresh furniture, more space to relax, and plenty of room to enjoy what’s shaping up to be a warm Malham weekend. Every table now has its own QR code too, so you can order straight from your seat - cold pints, cask ales, spritzers, soft drinks and all your favourite pub classics delivered while you soak up the sun 😎

Whether you’re walking the Cove, tackling Gordale or just passing through, we’re the perfect pre‑ and post‑adventure stop.

We’re absolutely thrilled to share a milestone we’ve been working towards for a long time - our full hotel refurbishment is officially underway

▪️Business closed Mon 18th - Fri 22nd May
▪️Restaurant & Bar REOPEN AS USUAL from Sat 23rd May
▪️Hotel rooms relaunch early August

Since joining the Thwaites family last year and becoming the sister pub to our neighbours at The Lister Arms, we’ve been on a mission to make The Buck Inn the true home‑away‑from‑home for the explorers of Malham. Bit by bit, we’ve made changes, listened to your feedback, and shaped a vision for what The Buck should be - a warm, characterful Yorkshire inn that honours its past while stepping confidently into its future.
The Buck Inn has been a staple of Malham for decades. Generations of walkers, climbers, families, and four‑legged adventurers have passed through these doors. This building has stories in its stonework - and we're giving it the TLC it deserves.
With Thwaites’ long history of crafting great hospitality, and The Lister Arms - one of the most loved inns in the Dales - as our sister pub, we’ve had the perfect support behind us. Together, we’ve been shaping plans that expand our hotel rooms, elevate comfort, and enhance the guest experience in ways that reflect everything you’ve told us over the past year.

This refurbishment isn’t just a lick of paint. It’s a full reimagining of what staying at The Buck should feel like - cosy, welcoming, rooted in Malham’s landscape, and ready for the next chapter of explorers who’ll call this place home for a night or two.It’s been quite the journey already, and we’re only just getting started.Here’s to the next chapter of The Buck Inn - refreshed, renewed, and ready for many more decades of memories.

This handsome lad is Ziggy - a big softy who loves nothing more than leaning in for a cuddle and making new friends 🐾🦴

He worked the bar like a pro… greeting every dog, accepting every fuss, and collecting treats like it was his job 🐶 Treats were eaten, cuddles were given, and hearts were stolen.

Dogs like Ziggy make The Buck Inn feel even more like home ❤️
