Hayloft : calming duck egg blue in the kitchen and darker teal in the bathroom 💙

Picking paint colours is one of those enjoyable but tricky jobs when updating our cottages. These were the first to be painted, and I'm a fan of blue 😆

The kitchen has everything - a cooker, hob, microwave, toaster, Nespresso machine - and the bathroom too - most useful is the lit demister mirror. Ideal for shaving, makeup, or using instead of the big light!!

Hayloft, the bedroom has a king sized bed, small sofa, cheval mirror and lots of storage. Best for me is the sunny yellow wall and the views onto the farmland.

At the end of the barn, Hayloft benefits from this east facing window, perfect to spot the wildlife - a kestrel hovering, a hare running, or the swallows as they perch on the electricity wire.

Everyone raves about the mattress on this bed too - made by Harrison Spinks in Yorkshire, it's an environmentally friendly design made with British wool.

We 💚 Thorpeness. Fantastic for a wander, in amongst the quirky houses, around the meare and along the beach, topped off by a lovely lunch at The Kitchen Thorpeness - just perfect and only a short drive from Valley Farm :-)
