☔ Rain at last…..much appreciated by the farmers, wildlife, rivers and gardens. And the end of the summer season needn’t spoil the fun here in the Cotswolds Lakes.
The approach to Autumn is lovely 🍂
The roads are much quieter. Parking is easier whilst exploring the popular villages without the summer crowds, especially Bibury, Burford and Bourton on the Water.
There are many delightful pubs and restaurants serving wholesome, delicious food. Perfect after a countryside walk or investigating the eclectic shops in our small towns. A rainy afternoon doesn't mean sitting inside wondering what to do.
Here’s a few ideas.
Visit the Cotswold Wildlife Park near Burford - even better when it’s cooler weather or Crocodiles of the World near Brize Norton.
Ride on a GWSR steam train from Winchcombe 🚂
Visit Sudeley Castle, Kelmscott Manor or Chedworth Roman Villa.
Go on a wine tour at Poulton Hill Estate 🍷
Be a rally driver for the day at Cotswold Driving Experiences, from 10yrs old!
Paintball at Combat Splat if you’re brave enough.
Why don’t you squeeze in one last break this autumn? A few days away. No rush, just a little more relaxing before the next big holiday - oh yes, Christmas is great here too.
So pack the walking boots, the waterproofs too.
The rain is most welcome and so are you 😁
