Some photographs from Ashdene Cottage this summer and early Autumn.
We first set up as a Holiday Cottage in 2011 and have had 19 wonderful years welcoming some lovely families and guests to Ashdene Cottage. In that time, we have expanded the games room, improved the pool area and filled the house with lots to do.
With heavy hearts after 19 years, we say goodbye to Ashdene Cottage today and the cottage now has new owners.
Unfortunately debts piled onto us over the Pandemic (no government grants or mortgage holidays for us sadly), followed by the Government rule changes regarding furnished holiday lets and National Insurance increases (that came into force in April), the energy hikes along with the massive commissions charged by the letting sites meant that we would be making a huge loss if we carry on next year and so have had to bring this all to a close.
We would like to thank our fantastic team Graham(Pool & Hot tub), Tony(Maintenance), Pam & Diane (cleaning) and some of our previous staff; Anita, Collette & Sandra for all of their hard work and dedication over the years. And of course, all of our fabulous guests, some of who have returned year after year along with their families and friends. We said goodbye to our last guests last Thursday 30th October.
We do hope that the economy picks up, it has been 16 years of austerity, mismanagement and tax hikes by politicians of all persuasions that has decimated small business, hospitality and retail and we wish the sector better luck.
