Wow! Well that was quite some Whitsun Spring Bank School Holiday...

Kicking off the week with a mention in the Telegraph ,the week just got better and better.

The sun did not stop shining and even the heat did not stop our farmers, who were superstars as always and caring, kind and patient with our fabulous (but rather hot)animals!!

We fitted in lots though..

Farm hands club for our older farmers, Free Rangers crafting and forest games for the younger ones, a Bat Walk with Farmer Roger, LOTS of bookings for our new and very popular BBQ and Stargazing lodge and of course LOADS of animal handling and special treats and Hot Tub ( or rather cool tub!) relaxation.

Our clever ducks managed to hatch 12 ducklings that entertained everyone, 4 chicks joined our furry team too and so chick handling was added to our 'Activity of the Day programme, alongside lamb walks& bottle feeds, goat excursions and other fun!

A well done to our wonderful donkey Roobarb who offered rides each morning and of course to Pepper goat who was his usual entertaining self! πŸ˜„
On top of ALL the fun 'on site' our 'families' also enjoyed great days out at many of North Devons spectacular beaches, as well as trying out some of the areas great pubs, restaurants and attractions.

We had many tears from our farmers as they left today πŸ˜₯ BUT with so many re-bookings we'll take that as a huge win and the highest of achievements πŸ₯°πŸ†
Thankyou everyone. Your wonderful enthusiasm for 'the farm' is very special to us and all our team.

UPDATE * A MASSIVE Β£410 RAISED. THANKYOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED SUPPORT FARMER ROGER ,ROOBARB AND National Autistic Society πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ‘

Roger and Roobarb are doing extra walking this week!

Dressed in his best colours and walking over 5k, Roobarb is excited to be helping us raise valuable funds for Autistic people and their families...a long term passion of ours as many of you know.

Autistic people can face many sensory challenges, experience intense anxiety around unexpected change and can struggle in social situations sometimes resulting in shutdowns or meltdowns.

The spectrum is wide but small adjustments and acceptance without judgement, can really make a difference.
When we first started on our own pledge to do this, 1 in 700 people were diagnosed Autistic, this is now recognised as 1 in 100!... thats more than 700,000 people in the UK alone
( acknowledgement to NAS for these recent stats)

So a big grateful thankyou to anyone who can donate a few pounds...Farmer Rog and Roobarb will get a shiny medal and certificate from if we can raise over Β£100!...be pretty brilliant though to smash this

Wishing ALL our 'Farm Mums' a very happy weekend and special day tomorrow.

For some of us its a day of remembering our lovely mums, but for those who are staying with us, we hope you create many more precious memories with your families and have a fabulous time.

Its a super busy weekend here with some keen and eager 'farmers' arriving yesterday and we were lucky enough to also get one of our own 'farm team mums' pop by with their newest 'addition '....who can resist baby cuddles?...definately not Farmer Emily!!

Katy has proudly managed to add a second beautiful daughter to her family...meet Ruby Amelia Kim born 2 weeks ago after just a 4 hour labour!!
Mum and baby doing fabulously ( as you can see!)

For us the 'bottle feeding' and 'night duty' begins again in a couple of weeks as our re homed orphan lambs arrive looking for as many cuddles as we can give them so watch this space for 'fleecy updates' !!

Love to everyone from all the North Hayne team xx

An absolutely incredible February Half Term with a lovely bunch of 'farmers'.

Thankyou everyone who helped make it such great fun.

Incorporating Valentines Day ( great reason to book massages, facials and pampering treatments!) , Pancake Day, where we did 'pancake fishing' with our 'girls' πŸ˜‹..jurys out on this one though.. as it seems the girls were not impressed with shop bought pancakes!! 🀣

A feature in the Sunday Times kicked off the week!... Wow πŸ‘Œ
PLUS.... the grand launch of our pretty special BBQ and stargazing lodge ...which has already been booked twice this week and has proven warm and cosy and a brilliant experience especially in the rain.

On top of ALL that fun, there was the usual Farm Hands school holiday club, ...a great 'stars' themed bird feeding workshop,... donkey rides and LOTS of animal experiences for our enthusiastic farmers.

Even mucking out was that bit easier with Farmer Rogers new quad bike! ( its the little things in life that make the difference πŸ˜†)

Booking already for 2027 (4 cottages already booked for next February..amazing πŸ₯°) please just message us if you have dates you want to check.

A few days off next week with our own wonderful family then its back to the cottage upgrades with a new bathroom for Katie's Corner .

January isn't just about refurbs and ripping out bathrooms!...

Its also the time we introduce our fabulous "Book of the Year" which means more new farm challenges, activities and a 'theme' to take us through the year.

So..our theme this year to celebrate the launch of our wonderful new BBQ and Star Gazing lodge ( opening in February) just had to be "night skies"

We are so fortunate to live on the fringe of the protected Exmoor dark skies reserve and really hope to share more of the spectacular sights which can be enjoyed here.

We therefore are absolutely delighted to introduce our 2026 book of the year which is "Stardust" by Jeanne Willis and Briony May Smith.

Stardust is a wonderful heartwarming story that encourages girls to 'aim for the stars and reach their dreams'

We particularly loved the beautiful illustrations and how the book explores relationships, emotions and mental health and provided a positive message helping children tackle their feelings.

Its definitely going in our granddaughters story basket 🩷

Thankyou to everyone who sent in star themed book ideas, we loved reading them all and hope you enjoy this one

As always our book choice will be available to borrow from reception and our new 'stars and planets' challenge will be ready very soon.

Happy 2026 to all our farm families...

A slightly delayed post as we were crazy busy after new year with some last minute school holiday breaks but ALL 8 cottages now fully 'de decked', Games Room and Play barn cleaned and ready to go and the jobs list for 2026 is approved by head office πŸ˜‰

An absolutely fabulous Christmas and New Year, thankyou to everyone who joined us.

Farmer Roger did infact finish the BBQ lodge just in time for Christmas !! πŸ₯³πŸͺ…( separate post all about this coming soon!)

Our Nativity cast of 2025 did themselves proud, Roobarb was a star donkey ( and had rehearsed NOT racing to get Mary into the stable this year πŸ˜…) πŸ‘
Our enormous thanks to Farmer Christmas who wowed the crowds and to all our brilliant team who helped behind the scenes.

Congratulations to our New Year Welly wanging winners too, each year just gets that little bit more impressive πŸ˜„

So...what's happening in 2026
Well to start with Farmer Roger is replacing the en-suite shower room in Squirrel-nutkin.
Work has just begun and the new fittings ordered.

Katies Corner is getting a complete new bathroom too and then Tom Kitten is having a new kitchen refit.

If we time it right, it will then be Spring and our new Lambs will be arriving so focus will need to be outside on the animals)

In the meantime our 2026 childrens story book of the year still needs to be selected ( Im thinking something star or BBQ related if anyone has any recommendations?)

Ok, back to it, thankyou again everyone for all your wonderful support throughout 2025.
Here's to an incredible 2026!! X

A very Happy Christmas to you ALL
Wow! What a busy run up to Christmas!

With our Christmas families due in from tomorrow the final push is now on to get our incredible BBQ and Star Gazing lodge finished so that Farmer Roger can have some well deserved days off!
( well when we say days off, we all know thats not quite on the cards πŸ˜† but the odd bit of downtime to spend with our own family..and newest addition will be just fantastic)

So...trees and cottages are decorated x 8! βœ…οΈ Wreaths are hung βœ…οΈ, lights are glowing and Farmer Christmas has been contacted βœ…οΈ, we look forward to hopefully seeing him on his John Deer after our Nativity on Christmas Eve!

Btw, youll all be in safe hands as we also squeezed in some first Aid training, ( well done team and thankyou to Chaz our trainer)

As for Roobarb, well, he has been busy rehearsing for his Star part as 'Donkey' and Stripey Legs has been his understudy this year (so far he is enjoying wearing a santa hat! πŸ˜†)
So here's a few festive photos for you ( including the BIG Build progress)

We thank all our incredible 'team' who helped make it all possible and ALL of you who have visited in 2025 and those already booked in for 2026.
We wish our past and present "families" a very Merry Christmas and to those missing loved ones this year we send our love to you ❀️ (we shall certainly be raising a glass to ours) xx

We welcomed in December with style with our fabulous Pre Christmas weekend... full of all our usual fun but with some extra festive sparkle ✨️

The local area offered a wonderful choice of activities and our local award winning market ran every day with their winter wonderland event and Fatstock show which is an annual thing and always well worth a visit.

Our North Hayne farmers were full of enthusiasm (as always) and arrived to decorated cottages, made reindeer food and Elves to take home for Christmas Eve and even Honey our superstar goat got dressed up for the occasion and took everyone on a jingly goat walk!

The highlight though has to be our special visitor who turned up on Saturday to wow the crowds and confirm who was on the "nice" list!!...unfortunately Farmer Roger isn't on it...yet ...(apparently!! πŸ™‰)....but there's still time for him to finish his ambitious BBQ lodge before Christmas so he's crossing his fingers he makes it πŸ˜†

Our thanks as always to Farmer Christmas , the team, and to our 'farmers' who helped make it extra special.

Next on the jobs list is Roobarbs Christmas Eve Nativity rehearsals, he's a lot more confident this year after his debut last year and is actually excited...fingers crossed he remembers his lines and enjoys himself ( which we keep reminding him is the most important thing!) πŸ₯°
