So, as you know….. in all our rooms we provide…. A comprehensive tea tray - Twinings tea, Lyons coffee, herbal/fruit teas, Galaxy Hot Chocolate and biscuits. Dressing gowns/slippers, toiletries, tissues, fluffy towels a hairdryer and an iron and ironing board….. Home from home!

OMG!! This tastes so amazing!!! Homemade Granola!! I’m not normally a cereal girl, but this is lush!! Now dehydrating bananas, raspberries and strawberries to make a real fruity one!!

Just great to see the FREE festivals are back this year!! Out of all of them…. Can’t wait to see our local band Rivelino take to the stage at the end of July! They are truly amazing!!!!

South Tyneside Festival returns this Summer!

We are excited to announce the return of the Borough’s much-loved free festival of live music, entertainment and family friendly events this summer.

Back this year, the event will run from June - August.

One of the main highlights of the festival is the Borough’s legendary open-air Sunday Concerts in the Bents Park which returns on 10, 17, 24 and 31 July.

The Council is delighted to announce that the artists who were originally due to perform are returning to South Tyneside, albeit with some line-up changes.

This includes Will Young (10 July), Ella Henderson and The South (17 July) and Shalamar and The Fizz (31 July), with priority tickets holders advised that their 2020 tickets remain valid for the rescheduled dates.

An exciting new addition to this year’s concert series is Dance Revival, featuring Whigfield, Sonique, D:Ream, Phats & Small and Kelly Llorenna on Sunday 24 July.

The Summer Parade, will make a spectacular return on Saturday 2 July. Once again, the whole community will come together to line the streets of South Shields and take part in a colourful carnival as it makes its way from South Shields Town Hall along to Bents Park on the seafront.

Classical and contemporary music will also play out to audiences when the popular Proms in the Park is staged in Bents Park on Sunday 3 July.

Stunning street theatre and an impressive circus show are just some of the new arts and cultural experiences that have also been added to the Sunday 3 July programme to make the weekend’s seafront events even bigger and better.

The open-air Amphitheatre on the seafront at Sandhaven will once again stage a range of entertainment, starting with live music showcasing North East talent on Thursday and Saturday evenings in June (except 11 June).

This will be followed by brass bands performing on Sunday afternoons throughout June, July and August.

And Kids Fun Fest will return featuring a whole host of children's entertainment on Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoons during August.

South Tyneside’s month-long summer parks programme of live music and children’s entertainment, which was introduced for the first time in August last year, will also return to parks and open spaces Borough-wide.

Most Saturdays from 23 July to 3 September you can also sing along to all your favourite tunes with local bands in the Victorian bandstand at our beautiful seafront park, South Marine Park.

Community events, including the summer parade and new street theatre and seafront cultural experiences, are being delivered thanks to support from Arts Council England funding.

This Is South Tyneside Festival 2022 sees a host of events taking place in and around South Shields. From live music at the Sandhaven Amphitheatre to huge free concerts at Bents Park, there's something for everyone as local and well known acts put on shows to remember.

Well, what a busy time we have had! Thanks to all our lovely returning and new guests. It’s been a weird year, whilst welcoming ALL guests, we have seen the very best and also the very worst of people! I’m sorry if this isn’t as positive as if should be, but…. Please remember, we are only human, we only have a few hours in a day to turn rooms around, shop etc.. we try to make it that you are the first person that have ever stayed in the room. We try very hard not to show we are knackered! If you have an issue with your room or service, please tell us, it’s very hard to 2nd guess what was wrong when you get a negative review from someone who remains anonymous!
We genuinely look forward to seeing our returning and new guests soon!!
