For ten days this September, some of Hampshire’s fascinating historic places are opening their doors for Heritage Open Days.

Explore The Great Hall in Wi******er on 12th September, discover areas of Fort Nelson normally closed to the public on 12th and 13th September, visit The Brickworks Museum on 16th September, or discover more than 1,000 years of history at Wi******er City Mill on 19th and 20th September.

Heritage Open Days runs from 11th to 20th September, with free events, tours and special access taking place across Hampshire.

Some experiences require advance booking, so be sure to check before you visit.

Summer isn’t quite over yet! 🤗

Along the Hampshire coast, sea temperatures stay close to their warmest into early September, making it a lovely time to squeeze in one more beach day, coastal walk or even a sea swim before autumn properly arrives.

For an easy day out from The Cart House, head to Hill Head for a quieter stretch of shingle beach and views across the Solent, or Lee-on-the-Solent for a longer seafront wander and classic coastal feel.

Then it’s back to the countryside by evening!
