There’s something special about waking up at Raylands Holiday Park.

Step outside early in the morning and you’ll be greeted by the dawn chorus, with birdsong filling the air from every corner of the park. Later in the day, you might spot our kestrels soaring overhead or catch a glimpse of one of our barn owls hunting across the meadows.

As part of our rewilding journey, we're creating more opportunities for guests to connect with nature. From discovering the incredible variety of moths attracted to our moth traps, to spotting butterflies, birds of prey and other wildlife thriving across the park, every visit offers something different.

More and more people are looking for a chance to escape the noise and distractions of everyday life, slow down, and reconnect with the natural world. At Raylands, nature isn't just something to look at – it's part of the experience.

Whether you're an avid wildlife enthusiast or simply enjoy a peaceful walk surrounded by nature, there's always something to discover.

What wildlife have you spotted during your stay at Raylands? We'd love to hear about it in the comments! 🦉🦅🦋🌿

Here are our four baby barn owls, all snuggled up together in their box during last week's bad weather. It's amazing to see the care and love these owls have for one another, and the dedication of their parents.
Now, all seven owls are out flying, hunting, and bringing in plenty of food. This truly is nature at its very best.
It has been an absolute pleasure watching them grow and sharing this incredible journey and footage with you all. 🦉❤️

🦅 **Our young kestrels are growing up!**

This lovely photo and video capture a really important stage in a young kestrel's life known as **"branching."**

It's exactly what it sounds like – the chicks are starting to venture out of the nest box and onto nearby branches, exploring the world around them for the very first time. They're not quite ready to fly off and become independent, but they're definitely starting to spread their wings!

At this stage they're building strength, practising their balance, and gaining confidence as they prepare for those first flights. They'll spend time clambering around the branches, watching their parents come and go with food, and getting used to life outside the safety of the nest box.

After successfully raising five kestrel chicks this year, it's wonderful to see them reaching this milestone. It won't be long before they're soaring over Raylands, but for now they're taking those first tentative steps into the wider world.

Moments like this remind us why we've worked so hard to create a wildlife-friendly environment here at Raylands. Seeing these young kestrels thrive is a fantastic reward and a sign that nature is responding to the habitats we've created.

Good luck little ones – we can't wait to watch your next adventure! 💚🌿

🦋 Moth Magic at Raylands! 🌿

Last weekend, Ben, our Park Manager and resident wildlife expert, took advantage of the perfect weather conditions to set up a moth trap at Raylands. Owners were invited along on Sunday morning to discover the incredible variety of nocturnal visitors that call our park home.

The results were fascinating, with 19 individual moths identified, including some real showstoppers such as the Privet Hawk Moth, Pine Hawk Moth, and several other beautiful and unusual species.

Moths are often overlooked, but they play a vital role in the ecosystem. They are important pollinators and provide a crucial food source for birds, bats, hedgehogs and other wildlife. Their presence is a strong indicator of a healthy, thriving environment.

At Raylands, our rewilding efforts, wildflower areas, mature trees, reduced chemical use, and wildlife-friendly management have created the ideal habitat for moths and countless other species. Every moth recorded is another sign that nature is flourishing here, helping to support the rich web of life that makes Raylands such a special place.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to learn more about these weird and wonderful creatures. We look forward to hosting more wildlife discovery events in the future! 🌿🦋✨

To all Raylands owners - worth checking out these Friday nights in Horsham town centre

We are thrilled to be welcoming back our Friday Lates programme this summer, launching on Friday with a night of Country music courtesy of The Gamblers. We can’t wait to see you all but wanted to remind visitors of a few ‘House Rules’, introduced to ensure everyone can enjoy their Friday night as much as possible.

The road closure will return this year through the Carfax every Friday from 5.30pm-8.30pm (until the end of August), the Carfax taxi ranks and bus stops will be temporarily relocated.

- Buses will depart from the main bus station 🚌

- Taxis will pick up passengers from the train station, with an additional temporary taxi rank at the top of the Causeway (near Blackhorse Way) 🚕

- Trains will be running as normal 🚅

Please plan ahead and leave extra time for travel.

Please do not bring a chair unless you have access requirements. This will help us to manage the size of the audience, keep the Carfax as safe as we can and, most importantly, continue to run these events in a safe and enjoyable manner for all.

Horsham Markets stalls and nearby shops will be open late, serving up a great mix of food and drink throughout the evenings.

Our social media platforms will always have the most up to date information on them, especially in the event of inclement weather or adverse conditions, make sure you are following us!

Our Friday Lates are again being filmed and photographed. This content will be used by us online and alongside press releases and articles in local magazines and newspapers to highlight the success of the events and to promote future programmes. If you do not wish to be included in the photos, we advise avoiding the area immediately around the Carfax.

See you on Friday! 🤠
