We’d just like to take a moment to address some of the comments on this post and provide a little more context.
As many of you know, we are based in a beautiful listed building. Because of this, we aren’t able to make structural changes to certain features of the property, as they are protected as part of the building’s history.
We’ve also had a few questions about the sign that says “No children under 8 unless previously agreed.” This is a historic sign that has been in place for many years and is not actively enforced. It has remained as part of the building’s history and character.
Our priority has always been the safety of all our guests, particularly younger children. We absolutely welcome children of all ages and love seeing families visit us. We simply ask that children are supervised by a parent or guardian at all times and are not left unattended, helping us keep everyone safe while they enjoy their visit.
If you’re ever unsure about the sign or have any questions before or during your visit, please don’t hesitate to ask one of our lovely team members. We’re always happy to help and would much rather answer any questions than have anyone leave feeling uncertain.
Whether you’re popping in for breakfast, lunch, coffee and homemade cake, or simply to relax in our lounge, you’ll always receive a warm welcome. We also have a variety of children’s meal options available, and we’re excited to be introducing some brand-new menus soon, giving both new and returning customers even more choice to enjoy.
We’d also kindly ask that people don’t make assumptions based on a short video or comments online. If you have any concerns, please come and speak to us directly—we’re always happy to have a friendly conversation and explain things.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support us. We truly appreciate every visit, every kind word, and your understanding. Our aim has always been to provide a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable place for everyone to enjoy.
