The recent sunshine has put us in the mood for refreshing sweet treats to finish off the evening. Chef Luke has certainly risen to the occasion with petit fours doughnuts, dusted with hibiscus sugar, and a hibiscus yoghurt terrine with caramelised white chocolate and miso and pistachio ice cream. Both joined our menu newly this week for guests and visitors to enjoy!

Breakfast - the most important meal of the day. We take it very seriously at Old Pines and it comes included in every stay.

Whether you prefer a continental-style meal or a good old fashioned Scottish cooked breakfast (in this image featuring black pudding), we’ll do our very best to fuel you well for your day ahead. Vegetarian options are always available too!

Another brilliant day trip from Old Pines is across Loch Linnhe to the Ardnamurchan peninsula - home to the most westerly point on the UK mainland.

Travel as a foot passenger on the well-loved Corran ferry for fabulous views of Ben Nevis or, if you’re feeling adventurous, take the car across and follow the winding roads to lovely villages like Strontian, Acharacle and Glenuig. A stop at the community-owned is a must for lunch with a view!

Top tip: What may appear on the map as just a few miles is often on single track or narrow roads in the Highlands. Leave yourself extra travel time to see the sights and still make it back in time for dinner.

Meet our new menu! 4 set courses made with high quality, local ingredients which our chef rotates often to keep everything fresh and seasonal. Our first starters of the year involve a pea orzo and 'Buffaloumi' from a Buffalo Farm in Fife, with lots more newness to come.

Try our new dishes for £50 per person in April for local residents. We're open 7 days a week!

A classic Old Pines day trip: Glenfinnan!

Just 25 miles from our front door along the picturesque Road-to-the-Isles sits the lovely village of Glenfinnan, steeped in both Jacobean history and Harry Potter lore. Walk up to and under the Glenfinnan Viaduct in around 15 minutes from the National Trust centre for a gentle stroll, or follow the hill path up and around for a 1hr+ loop of the village. On the banks of the loch, the Glenfinnan Monument commemorates highlanders lost fighting for the Jacobite cause and can be climbed with tickets from the visitor centre.

We highly recommend a visit to the Glenfinnan Station Dining Car for lunch in the unique setting of a vintage railway car as part of your time here. Booking recommended as it’s only wee!

Top Tip: Glenfinnan can be incredibly busy in the summer. Travel on the ScotRail train from Spean Bridge or Fort William and cross the impressive bridge for the same brilliant views, with none of the parking worries. On a sunny day, you can see for miles down the mighty Loch Shiel. It’s well worth a trip.
