Wonder if this first Flamingo Egg of the season will go on to do a Frankie! (Frankie update also in the Paradise Park post).
We always recommend this great local visitor attraction to our guests!
We’re absolutely delighted to share that our first flamingo egg of the season has been laid!
The female parent is called ‘Penelope’ and she is standing on the nest in this photo (blue ring band PHB). Her mate is ‘Colin’ (blue ring band PHC), both named after characters in Bridgerton.
The egg has only just been laid, so we’ll need to be a little patient as it will be around a month before we know whether it is fertile and will hatch. We are hopeful this exciting start to the season may encourage others in the flock to lay too, so please keep your fingers crossed.

FRANKIE
Many of you have asked for news about Frankie the flamingo, and we’re so touched by how many people think of her and have kept the blog page on our website updated. The last two possible sightings were on Christmas Day in the Lanvoy area in Finistère, which suggests she had travelled a little further south along the coast of France, and then again on 4th January even further south at the Salinas del Carmen in Fuerteventura. We think of her very often and dearly hope that she has found a flock to join and is safe and well. If we hear anything more, we will continue to add updates here: https://paradisepark.org.uk/flamingo-chick-news-2025/
