Diane Hadden

Diane Hadden is a painter originally from Northern Ireland. She has lived in Cornwall since 1999 and currently has a studio at Trewidden Artists Studios near Penzance in Cornwall. She studied Painting & Printmaking at Hull 1985-88 followed by a Post Graduate Year in Cyprus in 1988-89. This Mediterranean experience has had lasting effect on her work with a strong love for colour and light in the natural landscape. Rural and coastal landscapes are her main source of inspiration. She is largely influenced by Impressionists, Abstract Expressionism and Fauvism.

Oil painting is her chosen medium. She sells her work largely through The Square Gallery in St Mawes and other local contacts via open Studios Cornwall and also through regular exhibits at The Gurnards Hotel and The Coastguards Hotel in Mousehole, Cornwall.

She has recently also done an artist residency on Tresco for Gallery Tresco and her work of The Scillies is available there by contacting the gallery. Last year she also did a residency at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens & exhibited her work there.

A Cornish artist living in North Cornwall
Stephanie studied illustration at Falmouth School of Art and Design with a career background illustrating books, greeting cards and magazines.

Her paintings are drawn from the Cornish landscape and flowers found locally, combined with a love of interior decoration, colour and pattern. Favourite found treasures and objects provide inspirational momentum to her work.

Stephanie’s paintings can be found at The Market House Gallery, Marazion, Thomas Henry Gallery, Newlyn, New Craftsman Gallery, St.Ives, Atishoo Gallery, Charlestown and Clifton Contemporary, Bristol.
