So, we are now home from an amazing holiday (given to us from some wonderful people), that has given us rest, reflection and the energy to come back and start our new chapter.
This year has been a difficult one while we came to terms with leaving the pub. We did 10 & 1/2 years and in that time sacrificed a normal life which of the most was appreciated, sometimes not, but guess that's the choices we made.
We have discovered what good friends we have and would like to thank them for their support and understanding Natalie Parker Leighton & Shaun, Lynne Lancaster & Bert, Martin Short & Michelle Short (thank you so much for the holiday), Sharon Bowers & Duncan and the St Ives ladies walking group & many others.
The lack of support from Stonegate pub company was a huge factor. They don't seem to want to support long term licensees who are paying the bills and know what they are doing. We were left to get on with it and any improvements we wanted to make were to be from our own pockets. In fact we were due for a rent increase in December which we couldn't have managed and following the time we told them our plans to leave we didnt see anyone. It seems they will spend time, support and money on new tenants where it would have made a huge difference to us.
This has no reflection on the next tenants at the pub as they will need it, and we wish them all the best. It will be so nice to see the door open again.
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our staff past and recent who always worked hard to help us achieve what we wanted to, our family who have patiently waited for us to be able to have quality time with them, and we will. Megan Harrow , Keiran Harrow, Sandra Blainey, and thanks to all who came in and enjoyed what we provided
In our time we had lots of events, live music, parties to celebrate customer celebrations, good food and of course Covid times when we did our best to entertain and deliver home-cooked food
In our roles we discovered that you can't please everyone, all the time but we tried ....
It's a massive hole in our lives but we aim to fill it with good times.
We wish the new tenants all the best and look forward to popping in for refreshments.
This is not a post for comments. We wanted to say goodbye before we close the page (which will hopefully still provide memories) to allow a new one to begin.
