Today's harvest from the garden.

First decent crop of morello cherries since I planted the trees 5 years ago. Clearly the blackbirds and thrushes saw them as their own as I got a right telling off when they flew in to continue their feasting only to find my ugly mug in the tree. The picking, de-stoning and processing felt like a sword of damocles as I am holding the fort here alone at present , but 4kg stoned with the help of Andrei and Victoria...a great opportunity for mindfulness and conversation. A late night flush of enthusiasm resulted in cherry jam, dried cherries, glace cherries started and a kilo in the freezer.

Do check in at Woodland Cottage to share in the bounty from the garden. Guests can use the herbs cut flowers and sometimes fruit and vegetables can be offered.
