About an hour’s drive from Staithes is Yorkshire’s smallest city, Ripon, with its beautiful Cathedral, dating back to the 7th century, quaint marketplace, lovely independent shops and cafe’s. 10 minutes further on from Ripon is National Trust Fountains abbey and Studley Royal deer park, with its managed herds of Red, Fallow and Sika deer.

Another great visit to Staithes 😊

Yesterday we walked part of the Cleveland Way from Staithes to Saltburn. We started off heading down into Staithes, across the beck and up Cow Bar, along the coast dropping down onto Skinningrove beach, up the cliff again and along to Saltburn, We then got the X4 bus back to Staithes from Saltburn after some refreshments in the Ship Inn. The scenery was gorgeous and the walk wasn’t too strenuous, it took us 3 hours to do the 14.5KM. ⚓
