Staithes Festival of Arts & Heritage returns from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September 2026, transforming the historic fishing village into a huge celebration of art, creativity, music and local heritage. 🎨 ❤️ 🌊
This year, 113 artists will exhibit across 67 venues, with galleries, cottages, studios and hidden corners of the village opening their doors as part of the popular Artist Trail.
Around 15 students from The Northern School of Art will also take part in a special group exhibition, while full-time students Sophie and Harry will exhibit independently at St Peter’s Centre and 1 Webster Steps.
🎨 Preview Evening: Friday 11 September, 6pm–9.30pm
🖼️ Artist Trail: Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 September, 10am–5.30pm
There will be plenty happening beyond the artwork too.
🎶 Live music will take place throughout the village, including special ticketed headline concerts from Eliza Carthy MBE and the Saltburn Smugglers.
Visitors can also enjoy creative workshops, demonstrations, family activities, outdoor cinema, heritage talks, guided walks, geology and fossil events, alongside plenty of free performances and activities.
Some events are free to attend, while others require tickets or advance booking.
Visitors should also be aware that there is no festival parking in the old village. Festival parking will be available at Cowbar, with assistance and shuttle services available for those who need them.
A free taxi service will also operate between Chapel Yard and Bank Top for visitors with mobility or health needs.
It promises to be another fantastic weekend in one of the North Yorkshire coast’s most picturesque villages. ❤️
