Remains of the old township of Leitir Fura,Isle of Skye this week looking across to Knoydart on the Scottish mainland.

The site of Gavin Maxwell’s cottage on the far shore at the little beach of Sandaig can just be seen where he wrote about life with otters in Ring of Bright Water.
Historical records show MacInnes tenants living at the township of Leitir Fura until the early 1800s.
It’s a quiet hours walk to Leitir Fura following a section of well maintained old Scottish Highland drove route to the cattle markets in the south of Scotland.

Raasay is a lovely little peaceful island full of quiet walks ,big views, picnic benches and Raasay Distillery,an ideal stop for a Gin or Whiskey sample in the sunshine
