RIP Kanya King CBE 🖤

Founder of the MOBO Awards, pioneer, visionary, and one of the great champions of Black music in the UK.

For nearly 30 years, Kanya helped push Black music, culture, artists and communities into the spaces where they always belonged not as a side note, but as the heartbeat of British music.

From reggae, soul, garage, grime, R&B, jungle, drum & bass and beyond, the MOBOs helped recognise what so many already knew: Black music has shaped the sound, spirit and culture of this country.

At One Love, we honour that legacy deeply.

Thank you Kanya, for opening doors, building platforms, and giving generations of artists and music lovers something to be proud of.

A huge loss.

Festival ticket prices have been heading one way for years.

And fair enough a lot of the major events carry huge overheads, bigger infrastructure, rising staffing costs and all the rest of it.

But One Love was never built around that model.

We’ve always tried to keep things simple great music, good food, a friendly atmosphere, and a weekend rooted in people, music and culture.

That’s why our pricing has stayed remarkably steady over the years.

In a world where so much keeps going up, we’ve done our best to hold the line where we can.
