What a fantastic day at The Golden Lion as we welcomed the launch of Bloody Scotland 2026📚✨

It was a pleasure to host authors, guests and organisers as this year's programme was officially unveiled, including a special event with JD Kirk in conversation with Nicola Meighan.

Bloody Scotland returns from 18th to 20th September, with a number of events taking place right here at The Golden Lion. It's set to be another brilliant festival celebrating the very best in crime writing, and we are delighted to once again be part of it.

What a fantastic day taking part in the historic Stirling Walking the Marches!

The Golden Lion Hotel was proud to be part of this treasured tradition and delighted to welcome participants before the event with breakfast rolls and hot drinks to help set everyone up for the day ahead.

We were especially proud to see our own Ros taking part as one of the Birlawmen, helping to uphold centuries of Stirling heritage and civic tradition.

From the procession through the city to the celebrations at Cowane's, the day was filled with pipe music, combat displays, historical re-enactments and a wonderful sense of community spirit. It was fantastic to see so many people coming together to celebrate the history, culture and traditions that make Stirling so special.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, performed, organised and supported this remarkable event. We're honoured to play our part in such an important day for the city and look forward to welcoming everyone back again.
